How can i become a Protector??

I have been wanting to become a protector for a while now but i have no idea how to become one, people say just wait but i have been waiting for months :( please tell me :cry:

There needs to be a need for one, and then Zed and the other guardians just approach you and ask you to take up the responsibility.
