[LVS] Latest Version Server changelog

Perhaps there's not so much to speak about when updating a vanilla server, but there's still plenty of changes I make with command blocks or external scripts which add the !commands. I'll try to keep you updated on changes I make!

Recently changed:
  • Updated to MC 1.9.2
  • Slightly reduced scoreboard overhead
  • Added !calc (beta)
  • Added Quiz (beta)
  • Added !8ball (sentient? probably. Zedlings seem to thing so)
  • Improvements made to accessing logs
  • Nether Hub protection system improvements
  • Market protection area redefined, no longer impacts use of noob farm
  • Improved warp (town) system
  • Added Event Warp commands for Guardians (beta)

LVS is now running Minecraft 1.9.4! Included relevant changes below, some of may be client-side but thought you'd still like to know about them as they'll affect you when playing on Zedwork :)

Improved chunk cache performance
  • Decreased memory usage for biome caching

Fixed some bugs
  • Fixed a memory leak in pathfinding
  • Fixed pathfinding performance issues introduced in 15w49a
  • Fixed entity collision causing excessive lag
  • Fixed a performance issue in chunk generation
  • Fixed some wasteful code for navigation listeners
  • Fixed ArmorStand collision code being wasteful
  • Fixed Zombie pathfinding to unreachable targets causing server lag
  • Fixed some erroneous skin part display logic
  • Fixed a crash when trading too many items at once
  • Fixed the sound engine pitch algorithm not working properly

Mobs
  • Fixed Endermen not becoming aggressive when players look at their head/feet

Zedwork LVS has been updated to Minecraft 1.10!

Minecraft 1.10
  • New 'Auto-jump' feature. Can be turned off in options under "Controls..."
  • New particle effect under gravity-affected blocks (Sand, gravel etc.) to show that they could fall if disturbed
  • New fossil structure generates underground in dessert/swampland biomes
  • New cartable blocks: Magma block, Nether Wart block, red nether brick and bone block
  • New mob: Polar bear
  • New mob: Stray (Variant of a skeleton)
  • New mob: Husk (Variant of a Zombie)
  • Huge mushrooms can now be even taller!
  • New surface-level mineshaft can generate in Mesa biomes
  • General changes to world generation
  • Improved village generation
  • Dispensers can equip shields onto entities
  • Chorus Fruit and Ender pearls now teleport players from their mounts
  • Firework rocket recipe produces three rockets, instead of one.
  • Fish Rod can now pull items to the player
  • Endermen now spawn in the Nether
  • Players can now shoot when in a boat
  • Skeletons can now pick up tipped arrows and shoot those instead of their usual arrows
  • Other mob combat changes
  • Various other bug fixes

How did you do !calc and !8ball? Command blocks or external scripts? Also how do external scripts apply to the server?

Zedwork LVS has been updated to Minecraft 1.11 (The exploration update)!

Minecraft 1.11:
  • Chat messages can now be up to 256 characters long
  • Significantly reduced hunger rate for everything but healing
  • Reduced Skeletal Rider spawning rate
  • Chat warnings like "You can only sleep at night" now appear in the status bar
  • Changed the durability bar display and colors
  • Flower hitboxes now move with the Flower
  • Added Curse of Binding enchantment
  • Added Curse of Vanishing enchantment
  • Fixed shift-clicking not applying the correct scale level when scaling Maps with Paper
  • Fixed items getting deleted when the crafting recipe overflows the inventory and shift-clicking - additional items are dropped
  • Fixed putting Banner designs on Shields destroying their enchantments
  • Fixed the mouse click position lagging a few frames behind the crosshair
  • The outer landmasses in the End now generate End Gateways randomly
  • Added the Woodland Mansion
  • Fixed some ugly stone generating above ground in Bryce terrains
  • Fixed Desert Villages generating with Cobblestone around the well
  • Fixed the Birch Forest M biome not generating at all
  • Added Shulker Boxes
  • Added Observers
  • Dispensers can now place Elytra on Armor Stands
  • Block Entities now display their name in their GUI and keep it after being placed and destroyed
  • Banners ow require Dye when applying patterns that require non-Dye items
  • Banners keep their name after being placed and destroyed
  • End gateways now use a magenta-colored beam when teleporting entities
  • Can now remove contents of flower pots by right clicking
  • Added Explorer Maps
  • Maps now work in the end
  • Added Totem of Undying
  • Name tags now work on mobs with right click ability
  • Shields will now block all melee damage, status effects and fire
  • Fixed End Bricks, Purpur Blocks, Chorus Plants, Bone Blocks and Structure Blocks not showing the right colors on Maps
  • Fixed throwable items fired from Dispensers not hitting mobs for the first two ticks
  • Fixed Hoppers becoming stuck on world reload at chunk borders
  • Fixed sloped Rail hitboxes being full block hatboxes
  • Fixed Pistons warping entities too much
  • Fixed Boats from Dispensers facing the wrong direction
  • Fixed Dropper/Dispenser/Piston/Command Block placing not being consistent in all directions
  • Fixed Sand/Gravel being broken into a falling block by upward extending Pistons
  • Creepers will now create a potion effect cloud when exploding while inflicted with potion effects
  • Shulkers drop Shulker Shells which are used to craft Shulker Boxes
  • New Nitwit villager
  • New Cartographer villager
  • Added Illagers
  • Added Vexes
  • Added Llamas
  • Fixed custom named bosses not showing their names on the boss health bar
  • Fixed Sand sometimes falling through Pistons

I don't record all of the changes I make on LVS, because they're usually little changes I make frequently I often forget.

I think today's change would be good to announce to reassure you all :)

Warps
  • It is now harder to trap players in lava when warping. Will still take damage, but shouldn't die from the ordeal.
